Case Study

The Challenge

Magnetism, circuits and energy transformation are hard to teach from a textbook — students can't see field lines or electrons. The brief was classroom teaching media that runs on the phones students already have, with no app to install and no login, plus a way for the teacher to see how the class did.

My Approach

I built the suite as static pages with the AR libraries self-hosted, so nothing depends on an external CDN. Point a phone at a printed magnet card and a 3D bar magnet appears with field lines traced from its poles, in three configurations (single, attract, repel). The circuit module has three ways in — an interactive 2D diagram, a rotatable 3D view, and an AR mode where electrons travel the wire and the bulb lights only when they arrive.

Six energy-transformation scenes — from battery-to-phone to hydro and coal power plants — each run as a 3D viewer or AR, markerless or on printed marker cards, with staged narration in text and voice. A 245-question quiz bank across ten packs grades automatically and saves results to Supabase behind row-level security, feeding a teacher dashboard with CSV export and a no-login demo mode.

The Results

A live teaching portal at utamiii.my.id that works on ordinary student phones from 320px up, respects reduced-motion settings, and closes the loop from AR lesson to quiz to class analytics.
